British Rail Electrification

Electric Trains – the pantograph and the question back underway.?
Hi, Im an apprentice for British Railways, and I did not work in a field of electrification. I was wondering if the 25k volts is supplied to the Train through the pantograph along the head above lines, which is the path of return current? Im assuming its around the rails of the track? Thank you, Matty: D
Well, yes, down to earth by the wheels and rail. In Unless you mean the current account surplus generated during regenerative braking in this case, it is returned directly back to the system through the pan. At least that's how it was electrified at RR, I worked in the 'States.
