Beaches Essex
One thing is no shortage of Essex beaches. For many, many years of the Essex coast has proved be a popular destination for London and the Home Counties as well as attract tourists visiting Europe and even further.
For your convenience, we have compiled information and resources for the majority of Essex beaches located along our scenic coast counties.
Canvey Coast
Thorney Bay Beach (Canvey Island)
This quiet and safe Beach sand is ideal for families and for a nice relaxing day. The beach is surrounded by large open areas of grass with picnic tables, park games for children and free parking. There is also a newly opened cafe with public toilets, which ensures that all important cup of tea, hot meal or simply a fresh ice to soothe away the rigors of sun bathing, rock pooling or ball games on the lawn. Picnic and children's pool are always a favorite on this beach.
All this and yet only one hour of Fenchurch Street Station in London via a short hop bus and foot.
The A127 and A13 from London and the A130 from Chelmsford to Canvey our heads. Otherwise, frequent bus station Benfleet you to the seaside areas busiest Canvey – but then it is only 400 meters of gently sloping grassy embankment to take you for this little gem Canvey.
Beach Labworth (Canvey Island)

By car, just follow the parking A127 and A13 from London or the A130 from Chelmsford – Is always available. Try the Train to London Fenchurch Street Station and a right short bus hop to the bandstand on the beach.
Southend on Sea Coast
Southend on Sea has seven miles of sparkling seafront from Shoeburyness to Leigh on this stretch of Long Wed unique coast there are six beaches very special.
Bell Wharf Beach (Leigh on Sea)
A very small beach of fine sand which is extremely popular with families, located at the east end of Old Leigh in a region famous for cockle fishing and heritage. Shops, cafes and parking are nearby. The access is Leigh old town and the railway station Leigh is a ten minute walk.

Chalkwell Beach (Chalkwell)
It is a long sandy beach close with refreshments, parking and Rescue volunteers on weekends. Access is the Garden and West Chalkwell Esplanade and Chalkwell station is at the western end of the beach.

East Beach (Shoeburyness)
This small sandy beach with a grassy headland, has excellent car parking, cafe, recreation area, beach shower and toilet. There is also the zoning of areas for water sports. Access is via Eastern Esplanade and Thorpe Bay, and station Shoeburyness is only 5 minutes.

Jubilee Beach (Southend)
Southend fantastic beach opened in July 2002. Jubilee Beach was created from Construction of improved protection against floods, and stretches from Southend Pier to Thorpe Bay. The Marine Parade section of the beach is very popular with families and cafes, restaurants, retail merchandising beach fun and a car park close by. Access is from Marine Parade and East the Esplanade. Southend Central train station is ten minutes walk.

Shoebury Beach county (Shoeburyness)
Shoebury Common Beach (also known as West Beach) is a stone long sandy beach with access controlled slipway for dinghies and personal watercraft. This beach has a café, parking and great benefits. Access is via Eastern Esplanade and Thorpe Bay. Railway station Thorpe Bay is about 15 minutes.
Winner of the prestigious Blue Flag of the EU and ENCAMS Quality Coast 2008 prices.
Three Shells Beach (Southend)
Three shells is unique, small family beach with all facilities nearby and close to downtown. He is well managed with the support of the local association of commerce, which servants of the beach every day and installed a beach shower and a climbing frame for children. Access is Esplanade West, west of the pier. Southend Central Station is a ten minute walk.

Tendring Coast

Albion Beach (Walton on the Naze)
With one of the best beaches in the region and home of the UK's longest pier on the other hand, Walton enchants Visitors of all ages. The range of activities in the countryside walks, Walton all. Gently shelving beaches offer an ideal location for a day seaside neighborhood retail and entertainment so there's always something.
The Naze cliffs and beautiful National Nature Reserve provide the opportunity for walking and bird watching. Yachts gaze across Hamford water and watch in and out of the marina while the background the large vessels sailing to the port of Harwich.
Quality Coast Award beach is located near the town of Walton on the Naze on the Essex coast Sunshine. It is accessed by a main rail link from London and Ipswich bus service from Frinton on Sea and Clacton on Sea, or the southern route, from London and Colchester via the A12, A120, A120, A133 and B1034 and north of Ipswich via the A12, A120, A133 and B1034.
Brightlingsea Beach (Brightlingsea)
Brightlingsea on the River Colne is rich in maritime history and has the distinction of being the only Cinque Port outside Kent and Sussex. The city is a haven of peace for yachting and hosts international sailing events each year. Its sandy Blue Flag beach along the West Drive near Batemans Tower, a local historical site. A parade of beach huts line a beautiful and pleasant walk along the water where you can join the trail along the site of a old railway line to Alresford Creek. A range of sports and leisure activities are available along the promenade and barges sail offer leisure for visitors. Road access is via the B1027 and B1029.
Dovercourt Bay Beach (Dovercourt, Harwich)
Dovercourt is a quiet family resort with sand and shingle shelves gently Blue Flag beaches, including the historic land mark bow. A wide range of activities family are available along the walk, including an impressive range of sports and leisure facilities such as skate park and a pond yacht model and boating lake. The resort offers a panoramic view of Harwich and the port of Felixstowe and Hamford National Nature Reserve water. Enjoy a stroll in the narrow streets of the historic old town of Harwich or walk along the dam Nature Reserve with its resident seals.
Located adjacent to the town of Dovercourt, access by road is via the A120 follow the signs for Price Beach, mainline train from London and Ipswich, or Dovercourt Harwich Station. There is also a bus service from Colchester, Ipswich and Clacton.
Frinton Beach (Frinton on Sea)
Frinton Sea is a quiet family beach destination located on the Sunshine coast of Essex. A sandy beach slopes gently noted for its cleanliness and friendliness, region focuses on fun and casual at the seaside Enjoy walks along the extensive lawns or take a stroll in the downtown with its full range of shops. A walk in one direction takes you Walton on the Naze to a lively resort, and in the other direction to Holland Haven Country Park, a local nature reserve.
The Quality Coast Award beach is located near the town of Frinton on Sea, Essex, on the Sunshine Coast. Access is main railway line of Frinton on Sea with the connections from London and Ipswich by bus services from Clacton on Sea and Walton on the Naze, or access by road from the south via the A12, A120, A133 and B1033 and north of Ipswich via the A14, A12, A120, A133 and B133.
Beach Harwich (Harwich)
Harwich Quality Coast Award beach is located next to the historic town of Harwich on the estuary of the River Stour and Orwell in north-east Essex. The city is a major port and the old town of Harwich is a conservation area, containing many beautiful historic buildings.
Harwich Beach is a rare example of an emerging system of dunes in Essex, where the coast is mostly salt marshes. It might be best described as a beach "Work" as fishermen and seafarers use throughout the year for the launch, land and moor their boats. Although not not a designated bathing beach, it offers excellent views of Felixstowe docks. For this reason, it is ideal for those wishing to enjoy a walk by the sea in both summer and winter.
Road access is via the A120, follow signs for downtown and Navyard. It is served by mainline train from London and Ipswich, Harwich. There are also bus services from Colchester, Ipswich and Clacton.
Martello Bay Beach (Clacton on Sea)
Clacton on Sea is the largest and busiest stations in the Essex Sunshine Coast. It boasts beautiful golden sandy beaches, a fun-packed Pier, gardens seaside exceptionally maintained, stands on the waterfront, two theaters and pleasure flights.
This range may also boast the Blue Flag, which was resumed this year. The beach is gently sloping and benefits of a system of child safety strap to reassure parents.
The center combines growing national chains independent stores, the plant near the village mall offers designer labels at bargain prices. A calendar of events (including a free show two days Air) Keep visitors entertained throughout the year.
Martello Bay is located approximately one mile from downtown and is adjacent to West Beach. The city is served by rail links to London and main Ipswich and road links north (Ipswich and Colchester) via A12, A120 and A133.
The Beach Naze (Walton on the Naze)

Clacton on Sea is served by rail lines from London and Ipswich. The road links the southern London and Colchester are the A12, A120 and A133 and north of Ipswich via the A14, A12, A120 and A133.
