British Rail Nationalisation

british rail nationalisation
privatization vs. nationalization?

I do not really remember British Rail, but they seem to remember it is not better than we now have many other countries have with the State operaters systm excellent (although a railway network is a standard requirment effeicinet for almost -. Socialist GOVS dominated Europe). Thoughts.

If British Rail had been given on the government today subida gives all private networks, they would have laughed all the way to the bank! And used the money more wisely. British Rail has received almost 25% of government money that is splashed all over now, the government pays for carrages new Rolling Stock, research, new Grants and cheaper fares for many different people, the London Assembly to give money to the unemployed, elderly and young people to go overground and underground services for free now almost day, it was never used to happen, you now have New Deal Card allows applicants for unemployment benefits 50% discount on tickets which is unheard of when I was unemployed for years 80 when British Rail was around you had to pay full fare to travel to interviews, etc.! More with the British Rail system conflicts in running time, based connections, intergrating the Trains if a Train was delayed zone you missed the last train from another region, the resources were available to help you at home or put up somewhere, now it's a difficult case of a taxi and claim back the other company. staff where more proud to work for BR and much more aware of their rights, everyone was subject to the same rules and regulations, maintaining its fragmented and some people are more educated than others, some barely more, better, wages are different across the board from one company to another promotion from those that are available because of the location to implement a fully formed business another. Customers mainly on their own knowledge domain whose trains, they run on, but when they go on trips or other outside the area do not know if their Tickets are valid on a train or another, whose fault is a problem or delay, the manager, they should talk to most, seem to really confused when they come in all full of fire that we breath and we tell them nothing to do with us go to x company or company Y. Engineering works are more uncertain and complicated, Network Rail want to pull a piece of track for maintenance here, but they sometimes work in conjunction with at least 3 operators most major lines before they can to ensure there are no objections or plans for the line maintenance personnel try to do a job and be denied access by another because nobody informed there are bosses, they're coming and they cannot the adapt loads interesting dilema now. But the positive side, small firms try to compete against each other, the staff has over society specializing in training, more user-friendly franchise that last only a few years and must be renewed if the good companies perform well workers there and customer satisfaction, most companies today to listen to the sighs and groans of the customer and do something, unlike under BR when not much was done. The stations are smarter, trains are more intelligent, most stations now also take safety and security more and try to work with local councils to improve the areas around the stations look more welcoming unlike to run the state as that where in the 1990s by. Unfortunatley we are stuck with the private railways now for the moment that the cost of re-nationalization would be too large (see the fiasco of Railtrack, which was one branch of track maintenace and operations). Hope this helps you
