Plan Eurostar
Travelling by air has always given the people of this planet can jump from one continent to another few hours. There is no doubt whatsoever, travel company has not only changed how we travel, it has also had an impact on our daily lives.
Strawberries in the middle of winter, for packages sent the same day across the world. The airfoil has certainly made a great impact on society.
The aircraft and airlines have been the predominant choice for the majority of business and as vacationers in search of fast, efficient and nowadays, a cheap way to travel. There are of course other ways to travel, but Some seem a bit outdated.
Several years ago, the Train has been the engine of countries and economies. The train system, certainly UK may leave much to be desired at times, but this is due to prosecution under the investment of a succession of governments.
Since the opening of the Channel Tunnel in the late 90s, the Eurostar train network linking the United Kingdom to the mainline in Europe grew progressively, despite previous default. Now, this service seems to be the major opposition to the airlines Low cost flights from UK to Europe, especially from airports in the London area.
In general, a flight from London Heathrow to Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG) is a little less than 1 hour. That seems really fast especially if you need to be in Paris for a business meeting. Now consider these points. London Heathrow is not really in the center of London or Paris (CDG). The distance between London Heathrow Central London is approximately 15 miles and is roughly the same from Paris (CDG) to the center of Paris. Having said that, 1 hour does not seem so attractive after all.
We arrived at the checkpoint at London Waterloo International at just after 14:00. The train we were due to travel on the starting at 15:11, calling at Calais and Paris Gare de Nord (North Station). We traveled by subway to get to Waterloo station, which took about 25 minutes, involving a change of 1 Leicester Square, at a cost of £ 2 per person.
We had the opportunity to reserve tickets Eurostar in time and received many. For only £ 59 return, per person, our total expenditure to date amounted to £ 120. Two Eurostar tickets from £ 59, and two metro tickets from £ 2 each. We watched flying from Heathrow with British Airways and the lowest rate was £ 69 per person. Not much difference in price, but the trip to Heathrow and Paris (CDG) would probably correspond to the same. Not a good choice.
After initial security and passport control, we took our seats at 14:55. At exactly 15h11 the train glided effortlessly from the station to the magnificent London Eye visible on the right. So far so good.
The journey from London takes you through the suburb of Brixton and finally in the campaign. It seems somewhat dated English side as regards the condition of the railway, but after about 35 minutes travel, we turn off the railway on the Victorian Brand new, recently commissioned high-speed line in the United Kingdom and the race along the Kent countryside at speeds up 300 km / h (186 mph).
It does not seem long before we say goodbye to England and the announcement informs us that the transit time in the tunnel Channel will be about twenty minutes. In no time, we exit the tunnel to a beautiful blue sky in France.
After a stop Calais, we have approximately one hour and twenty minutes before we reached our final destination. Racing through the French countryside and the negotiation of the Paris suburbs We arrived two minutes earlier. It was really a great trip on the Eurostar, and now we are at the heart of Paris. Those who decided fly is now fighting to take a taxi or the RER system in downtown. Another 30 to 40 minutes more to add to this trip, not to mention cost.
The total journey time from central London to central Paris, we took a miserable 2 hours and 40 minutes (approximately). This is due to be reduced to about 2 hours and 15 minutes after the rest of the UK high speed rail link is commissioned in 2007. Once the line is opened, Eurostar will move homes and can no longer operate from London Waterloo, the transfer to London St. Pancras.
The aircraft Aero claimed the king of transportation. After He traveled on Eurostar, we say that the king is dead, long live the king. domination flight from London to Paris and Europe has finally had his day.
