Feeling Hot Hot Hot Bikram Yoga – a first timer wrote
Bikram Yoga has been popular in recent years. Introduced in Los Angeles by voices, led by Rolls Royce, sporting Speedo Bikram Choudhury, who is an intense series of 26 yoga postures in a hot room – up to 40 degrees.
It was therefore with some trepidation that I found myself slipping into my shorts, grabbing my two towels and a bottle of water and position in the room Yoga. The room itself was large with mirrors along one wall. Taking a yoga mat rubber I took my place among the other henchmen. Soon I heard what sounded like a roaring furnace of ship life and the room began to warm, then hot. The next new is that a very fit woman looking Hoves for a Madonna-esque radio microphone and let us know that we are about to begin.
After some introductions for novices to this subject in the light and easy drinking water when we needed it was time for departure. In this case, a breathing exercise. This done, I blew as the Flying Scotsman and redder as Dennis Healey. I was also sweating a storm. After respiration was directly in Half Moon. You will be amazed at how difficult it is standing with your arms above your head or on a leg for more than a minute. People around me have also been flexing side as pink bendy bananas.
And so it went for about 20 minutes when we made our first water break. At this point, I made the rookie error of about one liter of Downing water. If I was not sick before I certainly was after that bit of nonsense!
After the break we have made by all sorts of contortions to punish Triangle posture rabbit simply sadistic. Eventually things get a hair and I could get into some of the postures without wondering how I would be able to leave. Apparently, when pressed in and out of postures, you're dumping a lot of toxins in the bloodstream that can cause little nausea.
When we got to the final breath I stood on a towel soaking in shorts that were as wet as if I had been sitting in a bath. However, I felt strangely euphoric. Standing under a cold shower of ice about 10 minutes later, I began to feel better. When I am outside, I felt even more full of beans. I was very busy in the evening and most of the next day. In fact, I find quite difficult to sleep and I am now very familiar with the details of my ceiling of the room.
So the next day and every day for 10 days after I went back for more hot stretching and bending action and the results were amazing. Apart from the stone in weight that went somewhere, the big difference I feel is the increase of energy – a revelation total. So while it can be very intimidating and 26 postures done twice in such a hot room can make you have many times strangest, results to be felt to be believed. So, I encourage you to give Bikram a go, if you can get over the initial shock and coming back for more you surprised how quickly you improve!
