Gresley A4 Pacific?
Was the A4 Gresley Pacific regular schedule to run in and out of the hull? I know that some of them there were the "Specials", but none of them out of the ECML in Hull? The reason I ask this question, I have a photo Kings Cross A4 60015 'Quicksilver' at Doncaster, taken in August 1960, notes that she has just been published off a Down Express for Hull. I understand that the hull Wessis is a fishing village at the end of a rail spur, but obviously it has been and is still quite important to have direct rail services to London. I just wondered if any of the clocks at the A4 actually makes the whole trip to Hull. Oh, and just put in Hull in Yorkshire. Humberside has slipped beneath the waves a little behind and the hull has been returned in its place, some say that in any case never left
I've never seen any of the phots A4s on the line of Hull, nor do you expect this type of Locomotive to be part of an appropriate expression for Doncaster. However, Leeds Central fond memories seem to exist with its A1 and A3S Trains to Kings X with the A4 casual. As Leeds is an important service over Hull Humbersiders sorry, the fact that only a few A4s went on this service indicates that, even fewer have sent to Hull. The best answer has already been given by our colleague from Doncaster, my comments merelty support of his point view.
