What is the best wood to use for a Model Railway?
Go Flying Scotsman Hornby 00 gauge Train set for Christmas – want advice for her. Need help – been on plenty of websites now want opinions!
I was very pleased with 1 / 4 inch plywood (birch) placed on a frame of 1×4 pine boards to add rigidity (and to run your cables through). For my projects railroad N-scale, I actually used 1 / 8 inch birch plywood (also on a 1×4 inch frame) without any problem.
