3mm LED
This is beautiful and much needed, but there is a better solution to the problem. The light bulb is generally low the light of put and fails more often than not. The best solution is to go to the LED (Light Emitting Diode) which produces much larger lumens and is less vulnerable to electrical fluctuations. There are a variety of LEDs that operate with a Locomotive HO.
Standard dimensions are 3 mm to 5 mm in diameter. Basic colors are bright with a light blue or light yellow or off soft output. However, LEDs are available in a variety of colors.
