Indian Railways is a government owned organization, operation trains to almost every nook and cranny of the country. For its world-class services Travel by Train, Indian Railways is famous worldwide. One of the largest organizations from India, Indian Railways is supervised by the Ministry of Railways, led by Laloo Prasad Yadav, Minister of Railways.
With a railway network of about 64,000 km and more than 14,000 trains, Indian Railways is considered one of the largest railway operators in the world. According to one estimate, daily Indian Railways carries more than 18 million passengers and more than 2 million tonnes of cargo. Indian Railways is the world's largest commercial (Utility) the employer, with approximately 1.5 million employees. Indian Railways is divided into different zones, which are further sub-divided into several divisions. Currently, Indian Railways has16 zones and 67 divisions, which deal with the railroad train operations, and other related work of fields.
