The house, which dates from 1827, has been beautifully restored to show you the ancient history and elegant lifestyle of Port Elizabeth. The family home picturesque located on Castle Hill Road, Central, yellow-wood floors and exposed beams, a slate roof restored and is fully furnished in period style mid-Victorian. displays the dollhouse lace, and the kitchen are particularly interesting for small or those who enjoy history.
If you plan to stay for the weekend, then a visit to Port Elizabeth is simply not complete without a ride on the Apple Express. This charming Train makes regular fruit on its 285 km journey, but the weekend becomes a family experience. The train departs Port Elizabeth hauled by a Locomotive steam with little work and a lovely brass whistle. He moves past the residential area and Walmer through thick bush of the plain between the mountains and the sea
After crossing a bridge over Van Stadens Gorge (where there is a magnificent view of the throat), the train heads west in the countryside, an area covered with jungle and known for its aloe flowers.
The site of the mountains and Groot Elandsberge Winterhoek will amaze you as you pass.
There is also a passage in the Gamtoos valley before the train arrives at Loer. From Loer, Apple Express arrives at a small junction where Balance is the northern branch of Patensie and the other continues west, crossing the River Gamtoos.
