Steam Locomotive Rocket

steam locomotive rocket
Why is the first steam Locomotive called the Rocket?

I have a presentation of the history

The first Steam Locomotive was not the Rocket, there were many others around that time. When it was suggested that the the first public railway was being built, to decide which of these many engineers would build Locomotives and what would be the subject, a test track was built at Rainhill near Liverpool, and engineers have been invited to run their engines on the runway see who gave the best performance. George Stevenson brought his locomotive, he called the Rocket, and he won handily, but it has not been used on the first railway was built for testing. The locomotive used on the Stockton to Darlington railway was called Locomotion Number 1.
