Western Railway INDIAN
The West Indian Railways which was established in 1951, November 5 has its headquarters Mumbai. Division central Mumbai Ahmedabad Baroda Bhavnagar Rajkot Ratlam.
The Western Indian Railway (WR) is one of the busiest rail networks India. A large number of Trains passing of this area and take passengers to their destinations. Mumbai, which is also known as the economic capital of India has authority over the railroad of the West, as is the seat. The head of this network is located in the church Gate (Mumbai). The railway West also deals with the west line of the commuter Train system of Mumbai. This entire area is divided into six divisions which are Mumbai, Bhavnagar, Ratlam, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Vadodara.
The creation of this network was held on 5 November '1951, it is considered as the golden day in the history of Indian Railways. This creation of this network was held by the merger of several railroads in Baroda state, Bombay and Central India Railway (BB & CI) and Rajputana, Saurashtra, Railways and Jaipur. In the year 1867, the first commuter service has been launched in Mumbai this service began with steam traction. This network was then extended to Churchgate to the year 1870. There were fewer than 45 trains were used in both directions to provide a service round 1 million passengers every year.
This is in the year 1928 when the first electric train that started between the Church and Gate Borivali. Some of the lines of major railways within the jurisdiction of the railways in the west are Ahmedabad – Vadodara, Ratlam – Mumbai Central, Palanpur – Ahmedabad. Railways of the West cover a vast area that includes the state of Gujarat on the east side of Rajasthan, a western part of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra coast. There are many ports and on the west coast that are served by Western Railway.
Some of the most important ports are Kandla, Porbandar, Okha, Mumbai (Maharashtra) and Bhavnagar (Gujarat). This network generates huge revenues for Indian Railways. In Mumbai, the suburban section of part of the Church to Dahanu route covers a distance of 120 km long and connects 38 stations throughout. Something important on the railway network in the West, is that is one of the systems electrified railway in most Indian Railways. The reason for the Western Railway is a railway very important in India.
